Job's churn on proud display outside a shop in Clovelly, North Devon

This former Job's churn was spotted outside a shop in the beautiful historic fishing village of Clovelly, North Devon. The churn has been lovingly hand painted to make a useful display for items available from the shop. When this photo was taken the churn contained a selection of walking sticks - a very useful if not essential accessory for the streets of Clovelly!

The shopkeeper says she has had several people comment on the churn including at least four former Job's employees.

Clovelly is famous for it's very steep hill lined with shops which forms the main access down to the beach and quay. Many shopkeepers have to wheel their deliveries down from the top of the hill on trolleys from delivery vehicles that cannot navigate the steep hill. Sounds reminiscent of some of the Job's branches!

Many thanks to Steve Bushnell for sending in the photos.
