John (Johnny) worked for Job's Dairy for most of his working life in the Transport Department at Hanworth Plant. He started out as a driver's mate, then became a driver and ended up as the Transport Manager right up until the company was sold to Unigate in 1987. John was also the official qualified driving examiner for the company and many employees would have taken their driving tests with him at the beginning of their driving careers at Job's.
Along with his brother Derek, John really enjoyed working at Job's. He was very popular and made many good friends there. John also enjoyed attending the Job's reunions and meeting up with old friends.
After his retirement, he used to do a lot of walking, and made full use of his freedom pass. He enjoyed travelling into central London and generally getting out and about. He was very active right up until the last few weeks of his life.
John passed away peacefully in his sleep on 9th June 2011 after a short illness. He will be sadly missed by his wife Maureen, his daughter Sharon, son Alan and all the family as well as all the friends and colleagues he made during his time at Job's.
