Ron joined Job's Dairy in 1951 and was disappointed that he hadn't achieved 40 years of service before the company was sold in 1987.

His job in the maintenance department (also known as the property department at Hanworth Plant) took him to all the branches and meant that he knew a lot of the members of the Job's 'family'. He, Ivy and their children always enjoyed the sports days and other activities arranged by the company and he wouldn't hesitate to join in a sing-song! In the mid-sixties, their daughter, Jennifer, was crowned Miss Job on two occasions.

In 1990 Ron and Ivy moved into Louisa Court and a few years later they took over the maintenance of the garden from Alan, nephew of Tom and Vi Bentley (who were residents at the time). We are delighted that Ivy is continuing the good work.

Ron also used to keep an eye on the property as a whole on behalf of the Trustees of The Roberts Foundation and often carried out repairs, painted here and there, changed bulbs in the outside security lights, etc.

He never missed an opportunity for a chat and his cheeky banter is sorely missed by the residents of Louisa Court.
